What is CENTRAL Rat Race?

The CENTRAL Rat Race has become one of Hong Kong's signature charity events. Taking place in the heart of the central business district, it debuted in 2006 and has been held every year since. The race symbolises the various challenges one faces in the business world in a fun and exciting way.

This exhilarating event has two aims: to raise funds for MINDSET, a registered charitable organisation that supports mental health-related organisations and projects in Hong Kong and mainland China, and to reinforce Hong Kong and CENTRAL as Asia's centre for business.

To win the race, teams of executives dressed in business attire and running shoes will navigate eight different obstacles while passing a briefcase amongst each other as they race their way to the finish line. Held in the heart of Hong Kong's CBD, the race course also makes good use of CENTRAL's Grade A office space and interconnecting pedestrian walkways to highlight its value as a global business, finance and lifestyle hub. The inaugural event was held in 2006, and it was a huge success, raising over HK$2 million for MINDSET. Since then, approximately 2,500 businessmen, businesswomen and families have participated in the CENTRAL Rat Race and helped raise over HK$12.6 million.

The CENTRAL Rat Race 2011 was held on Sunday, 16th October 2011 on Chater Road and raised HK$2.62 million for MINDSET. Click here to experience the excitement of CENTRAL Rat Race, and here to see the results from this year.
